Take A Stand

Who would have thought how important words are? Not only will we know people by their fruit, but God says we will know them by what they “bring”. A good man will bring forth good things and an evil man will bring forth evil things (see Matthew 12:35).

But what about when someone says one thing and then does another thing. Or says one thing and it brings the opposite thing to pass? Does God hold them to the outcome? People know when they are deliberately deceiving someone. And we already know deception is from the devil not God.

So how does God set things right? Scripture is very clear. There are two main things God will judge mankind on. There are several judgments.  God’s word is going to judge people, mankind.

John 12:48 KJV “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

But that judgment is for those who reject Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. What about we believers? Jesus was talking about good and evil people when he said in –

Matthew 12:34-37 KJV “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
[35] A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
[36] But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
[37] For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

Notice, it is by our words. We will get into our tongue and words later but the importance of words is what I want to point out.

Jerusalem was ruined in the past because of their words. And not only their words ruined them but also their doings. Why? Because their words and their doings were against the Lord.  Isaiah 3:8 KJV “For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord , to provoke the eyes of his glory.”

Isaiah 3:9 KJV “The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.”

Isaiah 3:12 KJV “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.”

Friends,  those who speak in support of ungodly things, speak against the Lord and they reward themselves with evil.

When godly men refuse to stand up for God and speak and act against ungodliness,  scripture is very clear, God will use women but that is not God’s ultimate plan. Words matter and if we go along with and speak words of ungodliness,  it brings evil. So stop speaking words of ungodliness and take a stand for Jesus Christ and godliness.
