We posted a chart to help people understand they are not just a bunch of flesh walking on this earth, but that they have a mind, a will, emotions, all of which make up the soul of someone. We have re-posted it at the bottom of this report.
We also have a “sense” of praise, worship, faith, which make up our spirit. This is the explanation of those “out of body” experiences. That experience is the spirit of man leaving man’s body. We know there are spiritual beings and we know from scripture, 2 Corinthians 4:18, ” While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” So there are things we can not see, things in the spirit realm.
Knowing there is a spirit realm, we can understand scriptures like live in the spirit, walk in the spirit and be led by the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:16,18,25) where Paul tells us to live in a realm we can not see. How does one do this? That’s where the 3 in 1 come in. Our flesh walks in a realm we see, this earth, our soul (mind) is affected by both realms – the one we see and the one we do not see and our spirit should be walking in the realm we can not see.
So if we have a body, a soul (our mind, will and emotions) and a spirit and God created us in his image, it only makes sense then that God has a Spirit, Soul and Body – 3 in 1. Jewish people say Christians have 3 gods, but they do not understand God is 3 in 1 just as mankind is 3 in 1. When you see it is the soul that spend eternity in heaven or hell (Proverbs 23:14; Acts 2:27,31) and the spirit goes back to God who gave it because the spirit is praise, worship and faith (Ecclesiastes 12:7) and the body is buried in the grave/tomb. The body just houses the soul and spirit and one day, when you die, your soul and spirit are released from you body to your eternal destiny forever and ever.
So how does our 3 in 1 work together and what about the other “3 in 1(s)” in our life? Keep 2 Corinthians 4:18 in mind ” While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Next time we will see how this all comes together and it will change your life.
You have two people standing in front of you, you can walk up to both people shake their hands, hugs them and, they are to real people on the outside.
The only difference between these two people is one is a natural man and the other is a true Christian.
Time to define Christian. People think because they are born in a Christian home or that they were baptized or because they go to church they are a Christian. The Scriptures never say that makes you a Christian, it’s just not there. A real Christian is someone who has repented of their sin to God Almighty, believed Jesus Christ came into the world, shed his blood to pay for mankind’s sin, was buried in the grave and rose again from the dead and is alive today. A real Christian asks the Lord Jesus Christ to come into their heart and save them. then the Holy Spirit changes them and they live a life for God bringing honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit working in them – meaning their works change.
Nowhere in the scriptures does it say, say this prayer and you will be saved. the Scriptures are clear you have to believe in your heart first and then you confess with your mouth. Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. That is why Romans 10:8-10 say you must believe in your heart first and then confess with your mouth.
What are you to believe – that Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross to pay our sin debt, that he was buried and rose from the dead. See 1 Corinthians chapter 15.
So believing in your heart makes you righteous and confessing it with your mouth saves you. So what happens then? God performs a circumcision on you Colossians 2:11. He circumcised your heart and your spirit. And this shows we are more than just a body but we have a spirit too. Now we explore 3 in 1 in our next post.
1 Cor. 15:52 #KJV
At one time I could not understand how God could be three in one. I remember telling someone, before I was saved, yes I do believe the Bible is the word of God. If it says so in the Bible, then I will believe it. I may not understand something, but if it is in the Bible, then yes I will believe it.
This friend turned to 1 John 5:7 KJV – For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
I believed it even though I didn’t understand how that could be so. Now, God has shown me and I now see. It is easy to understand how 3 can be 1 and over the next few months you will see how easy it really is and it will change your life.
