Adam & Eve Mess up & I’m Condemned?
Is God righteous and his judgment right and true? Yes, of course, God is righteous and his judgment right and true. Let’s look at reality. Here you have these people Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve do something God tells them not to do and then that caused sin. Because we are all ancestors of Adam and Eve we are born with a sin nature. So 6000 years later you are born. And because you are an ancestor of Adam and Eve you were born with a sin nature. And because you are a sinner you can not go to heaven. Is that fair? Is that righteous? No. So how could God be fair? You have to ask two questions:
1.) Who caused Adam and Eve to sin and how did they do it?
2.) How does God fix this so I can go to heaven?
Genesis 3:1 answers question #1 – “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said…” It was Satan the serpent and he said something to cause Eve to doubt God’s word. Satan uses the same trick today on people.
Question 2 answer is Jesus. There are many verses explaining this but the most famous is John 3:16,17. God’s plan was to send Jesus. Another way to say that is God predestinated mankind to be redeemed through Jesus. Some take that as God predestinated some to be saved and some not to be saved which is not true because God wants all of mankind saved. But only as many as come unto him through Jesus Christ will be saved.
So God sent Jesus Christ and made Jesus’ soul a sin offering for mankind. And when God saw the travail (labor with great pain) of Jesus’ soul (mind, will and emotions) God the Father saw that and was satisfied and then the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross, washed away all sin once and for ever.
Isaiah 53:10,11 KJV says,
“Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,….
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”
Colossians 1:14 in KJV says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
So Satan said something to Eve that caused her to doubt God’s word. Satan uses the same trick on you and me. If you are more focused on what your flesh (body) wants than growing the spiritual you, you will loose the battle.
