Walking Away From God – Part 1 of 2

Part 1: The Foundation

Ephesians 1:3 KJV “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

Spiritual blessings mean blessings of and in the spirit, not the flesh. Now stick with me on this because understanding the spirit, soul and body and how these 3 parts work is the key to life.

Bless means to make happy, successful, prosperous. Yes, God has given us spiritual blessings and he does give us earthly blessings too. A key is Abraham.

Abraham was before the law, so the promises given to Abraham are not the same promises given to Moses (Romans 4:13 – Romans 4:13 KJV
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.)

You can not take promises given to Moses, who was under the law and represents the law, and apply those promises to the church ( believers in Christ).  The whole book of Galatians explains we are not under the law. Paul explains in Galatians our spirit man. You find you are to live in the spirit, walk in the spirit and be led by the Holy Spirit.

Paul even explains how you can recognize if someone is walking/living according to the spirit or the flesh in Galatians 5.

Then in Ephesians, Paul explains to people who came out of false religions (Acts 19:26-41) and they got saved, Paul explains the spirit world. How our blessings are spiritual, heavenly and we have an enemy who fights us in the spirit realm. That’s why we use the whole armour of God (Eph.6). We are in a battle.

If you were to ask Christians how does the enemy Satan, fight against you, many could not answer. We are in a battle, a war, in the spirit realm. And Paul, in Ephesians, is telling us how to fight this spiritual battle while living in this earthly realm.

I remember asking God one time, How do we fight something we can not see? I heard God say to my heart and to my mind, Do what Jesus did. Matthew 4 tells us Jesus fought Satan with the word. Jesus quoted scripture, out loud.

So when Satan or his workers come after you or your family or even your church, fight back by quoting out loud scripture.

So what about the “Christian” that walks away from God? That is Part 2 of this report. Fight the good fight of faith.
