The Path Of The World Or God?

What is the veil between the spiritual realm and our earthly walk on earth? Paul makes it clear, we are in a spiritual battle and it is warfare. The veil between the spiritual world and the earthly, is the body – the flesh.

Things in this world, the natural world, appeal to the flesh. People spend wads of money on things in this natural world. They buy houses, cars, technology, food, clothing, cosmetics, perfumes, sports gear, sporting goods all to improve their natural world, enhance their flesh. They feed their flesh and the desires of their flesh.

The soul/mind has thoughts (see Dirty Thoughts ) and starts to desire things from this natural world. Things that appeal to the flesh. Once you start to desire these things, you start to reason the thoughts and figure out a way you can obtain these desires. Once you determine you are going to go after these things, the thought gets into your heart. What’s in your heart comes out your mouth (we will cover this one later). You will do what you have to -to obtain your prize.

Sometimes, people take destructive paths to obtain prizes. Many do not realize, once they take that destructive path, the joy, excitement and pleasure of that prize wears off. And then what do they have? Guilt, shame and regrets.

The key is how do you handle the guilt, shame and regrets. Do you do like King David and confess, repent and admit to God you sinned and ask God to forgive and help you? Or, do you wallow in pity, shame and guilt?

Just like Eve, Satan will entice you, lie to you, trick you and deceive you (he has 1000s of years of practice). See our post How Satan Traps Part 1 and our post Why Satan’s Tricks Work Today

Satan knows if he can get a hold of your thoughts and your mind, even if only for a moment. He and his evil workers spread lies into your head and keep pushing and pushing the lies until you finally believe the lies. And then he has you in his TRAP. He has then made a stronghold in your mind/soul (see 2 Corinthians 10:3-5) and if he gets that stronghold that means he successfully tricked you.

We all know the lies that Satan spews and his tricks. He never wispers good thoughts or he mixes truth with lies like he did to Jesus in Matthew 4. Satan tells us we are worthless, life isn’t worth living, you’ll never amount to anything, do it just once you will see it won’t hurt you, that Christian does it, and on and on.

And if Satan can’t get to you and your thoughts, he will use other people to convince you, even friends or worse, family. They will tell you maybe you should do this or that. Don’t get upset with them, they don’t know Satan is using them. Teach them. That is why good preachers say to seek advice from God and godly people who you know have a true relationship with the Lord.

The only way you break strongholds is with faith and God’s word. You have to out loud cast that thought down as Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
How do you do that? Say out loud, I rebuke that thought and reject it. Then you need to quote out loud a scripture verse. Even if you only know one verse, quote it out loud, it builds faith (Romans 10:17).

Example: You get a thought to check your Facebook page, at work. Or you want to try a grape from the produce section at the supermarket. You can say out loud, I rebuke and reject that thought. Thou shalt not steal. If anyone asks you what you are doing, great opportunity to witness for Jesus.

We fight something we can not see (a spiritual battle) and we fight with weapons we can not see – the shield of faith and the word of God ( see Hebrews 11:1 & Ephesians 6:17).

There is a spirit that works in the natural man and that spirit is from Satan – Ephesians 2:1-5 – but Praise God because God is rich in mercy, for his great love will save us and help us if we ask.

Until next time – God loves you and wants you to turn your heart and life over to him.
