When Friends & Family Leave
Genesis 12:1 KJV “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:”
Sometimes, God asks us to leave what we are familiar with and calls us to something new. If we are led by the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:14, we go. Put yourself in Abraham’s place. God tells him to leave his country, family and all he knew and go, without knowing where he was going or what he would do. Would you go?
God tells Abraham before he decides to go – Genesis 12:2 KJV “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:”
As many around the world celebrate giving God thanks, America sets the last Thursday in November as a day of Thanksgiving to God. Our founding fathers established Thanksgiving and Abraham Lincoln wrote the Proclamation in 1863.
Sometimes, God moves us and other times God moves other people in or out of your life. When God removes you or others, including your family, out of your life, it is most often because God wants to do something special with you, just like he did with Abraham and Joseph. If your desire in your heart is love for Jesus Christ, you truly love God in your heart, this request can be painful.
Friends, God loves you and he would not hurt you. Be thankful for the people God has in your life now because they may be gone tomorrow.
