A Glimpse Of The Unseen
Last time we looked at the invisible world made the visible world we see with our eyes in this fleshly body. I am going somewhere with this, believe me.
Romans 1:20 KJV “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse”
Invisible is mentioned 5 times and all 5 are by Paul. But invisible is also identified as “things not seen”.
Paul explains that Jesus Christ is the image of God and the firstborn of every creature, see Colossians 1:15. That means Jesus was around before creation of anything. In verse 16 Paul says Jesus is the one who created all this visible world.
In 1 Timothy 1:17 Paul tells us Jesus Christ, right now, is invisible. In context with verses 15-17 we know Jesus came to save sinners and to those who believe on, not in, Jesus Christ, obtain mercy and forgiveness – salvation. [Believing on means you put all your heart, faith and trust on what Jesus did, said and who he is, nothing else. Believing in means you believe he was but that’s it. Even the devils believe in but not on.]
Referring to Moses, Paul explains to the Jews in Hebrews 11:27 Moses did not fear what the king would do because it was like Moses could see the invisible.
Mankind saw the invisible God manifest in the flesh in the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
Notice “seen of angels”? Angels know who Jesus is. And in 1 Timothy 6:16 Paul tells us only Jesus Christ dwells in the presence of God the Father and God the Holy Spirit and no man can dwell “in” that light but Jesus Christ. Jesus is our Advocate, Redeemer, Saviour and Lord.
It is very clear from the Scriptures there is an invisible world. God gives us a glimpse of this world when angels are seen. There are many scriptures that tell us angels appeared to people in this world. Even Gabriel appeared to Mary and Joseph to announce Jesus would be born and why he was being born.
Which brings me to the things that are not seen.
2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
There are things we see in this body, in this world, and there are things we do not see. One day we will die in this body if the Lord tarries. When we die, we will leave this body and go to our eternity. Our eternal destination we choose when we were alive in the flesh. Once we die we can not change anything. I pray you make the right decision for your eternity now while you have a chance. See How To Get Saved in our Menu at the top.
Our spirit man, if you are saved, battles our flesh, battles our mind, battles our heart and battles attacks from the enemy. We will explore this more next time. Be strong and of good courage.
