Why May

Daniel 12:9 KJV “And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.”

There is a lot of evidence we are living in the “last days”. We know scripture has about one third prophecy some say. Many believers have been warning people to search their hearts and be sure they are truly saved and going to heaven, including this believer – me. Students of the word of God know what is coming for this world and for unbelievers. They have been sounding the alarm for years.

As Noah sounded the alarm, people did not listen. Even unbelievers know of prophecies in God’s word. Herod gathered chief priests and scribes of the people and asked about prophecies, see Matthew 2:1-10. Peter tells us,
2 Peter 1:20-21 KJV  “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
[21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

When scripture tells us something that has not happened yet, we say it is prophetic. It is different from soothsayers or fortune tellers because God is never wrong and never shoots blanks. If it is in the word of God, you can count on it happening. Believing what God says or not believing is your choice. And God does not act on what you believe or what you do not believe, his actions are based on his word.

Which brings me to my point. We know the Temple of God in Jerusalem was destroyed and now mosques sit on the site of the Temple Mount. We also know Paul the apostle tells us in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 KJV speaking of the man of sin,  “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

When we look at Jerusalem, students of the word of God know the man of sin can not sit “in the temple of God” unless there is a temple of God. So we know something is going to happen on the Temple Mount and the Jews will rebuild their temple, in Jerusalem, on the temple site before the Antichrist can sit in the temple of God.

As believers in this age of grace, we may see the rebuilding efforts but we know we will not be here on earth when the Antichrist is revealed.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 KJV “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let , until he be taken out of the way.
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:”

I know God has a reason for everything he puts in his word. So I went back and looked at when were the two previous temples built. Could they hold a key regarding the third temple?

1 Kings 6 holds the answers to the temple King Solomon built. Solomon started building the temple:
~ 480 years after Israel came out of bondage in Egypt.
~ In the 4th year of his reign.
~ In the second month of Zif ( about May )

The temple was finished in the 8th month of Bul  ( about November ).
Later we learn Nebuchadnezzar destroys this temple in the 5th month on the 7th day of the month. That is our August. You can read this in 2 Kings 24:10 and 2 Kings 25:8,9.

In Ezra’s time, the rebuilding of the Temple ( the second temple ) is started in the second month again, Zif, see Ezra 3 under Cyrus. The rebuilding is stopped and then started again. Then Darius declares, let the Jews build their temple in Ezra 6:7-11. The second temple was finished on the third day of Adar, ( our March).

Both temples were started in the month of Zif, equivalent to our May. Could the third temple be started in May? I am not saying what May, what year. I am saying it is interesting both temples were started in the same month. Which brings me back to prophecy.

In the picture below, I find Bill Salus’ comments on the Now Prophecies interesting. The Temple site plays a roll in prophecy. The prophecies on the bottom are events Bill thinks will happen any time now. The Next Prophecies are events Bill believes will happen after the Now Prophecies.
