I Wonder

Did you ever think, I wonder what they think now? You knew this person who didn’t believe anything the Scriptures say and you heard they died. Did you ever think, I wonder what they think now?

Just because people do not believe what God says does not mean it isn’t true. People did not believe Noah before the flood. People use to believe the world was flat. People use to believe you did not need to wash your hands after touching open wounds. Infections and death occurred. Even today, people believe two dead asteroids collided and that created our solar system, seas, animals and even man. And because they can not explain how, they say it took millions and millions of years.

Why do people believe this “stuff”? Because they do not believe in God Almighty,  Creator of all. Because they choose not to believe God, does that mean they are right? No.  Proverbs 21:2 KJV  “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.”

One of the greatest break-throughs for me after I was saved, was man is a spirit being that lives in a body with a soul.  And when man dies, his spirit and soul leave his body. His body is buried. Before I was saved I didn’t know anything about man’s spirit, soul or body.  After I was saved I understood but it never “clicked” on how it applies to every day life until a few years ago. How spirit related scripture deals with our spirit man and how flesh scriptures deal with our flesh and the referee is our soul, our mind, will and emotions.

But that is not my point this time. One of the key scriptures explaining the difference between believer’s destination when they die and unbelievers destination, is in Luke. Not once does Scripture or Jesus say this description is a parable, not once. Meaning it is actually as Jesus describes.

Notice after reading this description Jesus gives the key to finding the truth, the right way. The key is, the Scriptures. And if people do not believe the Scriptures, well then, they are like the rich man.

Luke 16:19-31 KJV  “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
[20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
[21] And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
[23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
[24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
[25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
[26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
[27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
[28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

Once you die, you can change your mind, just like this rich man. But once your body dies and your soul and spirit leave your body, your destination is sealed by you, not God because you chose to believe God or not to believe God.

When I look at people like Michael Jackson or recently, Prince, I think, I wonder what they think now? They were both Jehovah Witnesses according to the news reports. If you know the doctrine of the Jehovah Witnesses you know it is similar to the Mormons. Neither believe Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. They do not believe Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven as scripture clearly states. So I wonder what these people think now.
