Looking To ……..
Noah built the ark because God told him to build it. Then God tells Noah how to build the ark. After telling Noah this information, God tells Noah why.
Genesis 6:17 KJV “And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.”
When the ark was done, do you think Noah was looking to see the rain? It had never rained before this. A mist came up from the ground to water everything, see Genesis 2: 4-6.
When Paul tells Titus to be “looking for that blessed hope AND the appearing of Jesus Christ” what was Paul talking about?
Titus 2:11-15 KJV. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”
Paul defined this blessed hope as ” a resurrection of the dead ” in Acts 24:15 KJV “And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.”
Notice the words just and unjust? We know “the just” are believers, the ” just ” shall live by faith.” So the “unjust” are non-believers. Believers are those “in Christ” and unbelievers are those “not” in Christ. All you need to do is look at the first couple verses of Paul’s letters. He addresses his letters to those in Christ, see Ephesians 1:1.
So one has to ask, when is the resurrection of the just, the believers? Scripture is very clear. Believers who are in Christ are resurrected to meet together with the Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds in the air –
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
Friends, if you are “in Christ ” you need not worry about what is going on in this world. You should be telling others about the “coming flood of ungodliness” and looking to that great meeting in the air.
When trials, temptations or struggles come, try to look beyond them to the meeting in the air. Here is a visual aid. Take a piece of paper and on the left side of the paper make a dot. Then on the right side of the paper make another dot. Under the first dot write my life begins. Under the dot to the right write my life on earth ends and I meet Jesus. Then draw an arc over the top connecting the dots. Under the arc write my life filled with joy and opposition.
Every time you have opposition look beyond the opposition and you will triumph over opposition. 2 Corinthians 2:14 KJV “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”
We will explore this more later. Have a blessed day.
