Getting The 7 Things

One of the prayers Paul prayed was the believers, saints, would know some keys.

Ephesians 3:14-21 KJV  “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
[15] Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
[16] That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
[17] That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
[18] May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
[19] And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
[20] Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
[21] Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”

Believers need to be strengthened in their inner man. The interesting thing about these verses is the preceeding verses in that same chapter. As I have mentioned before, Ephesians, Romans and Thessalonians are doctrinal books for the church age. And Paul was called to be an apostle to the church in the dispensation of grace. Not the old testament law and not during the great tribulation, but to the church in the age of grace.

The age of the law was from Moses to Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. The age of grace is from the resurrection of Jesus when Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to his disciples first and then to all believers who are in Christ. Until the removal or catching up of all believers before the great tribulation. Paul lays this out in 2 Thessalonians when he says,

2 Thessalonians 2:7-14 KJV  “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let , until he be taken out of the way.
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
[9] Even him , whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
[13] But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
[14] Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Some teach this is saying Michael the Archangel. I disagree. Clearly, scripture teaches there was a specific time God sent the Holy Spirit to dwell inside believers. There is also a specific time God has set when he will remove all believers in Christ before the great tribulation and Isaiah the prophet even declared this in Isaiah 57:1 KJV
“The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come .”

Today, righteous people do perish, they die, and the world seems glad to get rid of them. But one day, the righteous will be taken away from the evil to come.

So back to Ephesians 3 we see Paul mentions principalities and powers in heavenly places – learn things about God’s plans, through the church. Ephesians 3:10 KJV  “To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,”

Paul has been setting up how everything is based in Christ. Our blessings, promises, inheritance, our future is all rooted in and based in Jesus Christ. And Paul addresses our Heavenly Father God, based upon Paul being in Christ. And then Paul has a prayer to God the Father for believers. This prayer is written out at the top of this post. Paul lists 7 things he desires for believers. Can you find the 7 things? Once you find the 7 things, how do you get them? And we will pick it up next time.

Have a great weekend. Until next time.
