Illusions of Heaven / The Kingdoms

When people talk about heaven they speak about what they think in their head, their mind. (Their soul ). People come up with all kinds of “thoughts”. But as we explained in Illusions of Believers, the issues of life comes from from the heart.

This will probably be a 2-part explanation, this being part 1 and tomorrow part 2. We post one post every day Sunday – Thursday or Friday. If you “get” this, it will open your eyes to understanding your relationship with God as a believer.

People say we do not know much about heaven and they quote 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV  “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

They stop there and let you think you can not know but if they read the next verse you would see God wants you to know now. 1 Corinthians 2:10 KJV
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

God wants us (believers) to know. But understanding the heaven and earth connection is understanding authority. You see, kingdoms have those with authority. Just like the nations have leaders with authority in this physical world, God has ultimate authority.

Jesus said because he speaks what God speaks, he has authority in John 12:49,50. So if we speak what God speaks, we also have authority. And we also know Jesus spoke a lot in parables to people. But Jesus explained things clearly to his disciples. So Jesus was teaching the people “in story form” and his disciples asked him why he did that. In Matthew 13:10, 11 Jesus tells them  Matthew 13:11 KJV  “He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”

The Kingdom of Heaven is a physical kingdom on earth with a king. It is compared to a treasure hid in a field, a pearl of great price and as the people wanted fish and bread, things of this world, Jesus said seek ye first the  kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.

The kingdom of God is not the same as the Kingdom of Heaven. But Jesus would teach them a truth and hide it in a story, a parable. You would have to seek out the treasure, the hidden message. Why? Because there are some who wanted “stuff” and were not interested in having a relationship with God. Sift them as wheat?

So people ask about heaven. Jesus taught, Our Father, which art in heaven… so there is a place called heaven. John was taken there in Revelation and Paul was caught up to the third heaven. The Kingdom of Heaven is not the same place as physical heaven where God lives. Remember, pray thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven? Thy kingdom come is a kingdom with power and authority. And that is what was announced by John the Baptist in Matthew 3: 1 – 17 when Jesus came to be baptized, the kingdom was at hand.

Kingdoms come with power and authority. So when Jesus said the kingdom is at hand, it was the same type of power and authority as is in heaven. But Jesus knew he was going to be crucified. Jesus knew Gentiles were going to be saved. So what does Jesus tell his disciples? Not to seek the Kingdom of Heaven, but Luke 12:31 KJV
“But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Jesus was explaining how people and nations seek worldly things. But if you seek the kingdom of God first, all these other things will be added unto you. We know power and authority come with kingdoms. Luke 17:20-21 KJV  “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
[21] Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

God gave us life to enjoy but we only have a set time to learn and find truth.
So real believers will look for the hidden meanings from the parables, they do not seek the things of this world, they seek the things of God. And when believers seek ye first the kingdom of God, they learn and discover –

1 Corinthians 2:10-16 KJV  “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
[11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
[12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
[13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
[14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.
[15] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
[16] For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

We will pick it up from here next time.
