Balancing Spiritual & Carnal Conclusion

If you apply for a job you seek to match most of the job requirements and fulfill the desires of the potential employer’s open position. Why? Is it because the employer is on an ego trip? No. Is it because you know better than the employer? No. The employer is the owner, the maker of the business and the job, and the employer hires people who want to work for him. He hires people who believe in his company, their vision and their product or service. And those he hires must follow his company’s policy and procedures. You determine if you want the job.

So is it with God. God is holy and he has set up certain procedures to get to his place, heaven. He has also laid out how mankind can go to heaven. Unlike a business requiring specific job performances God made the application very easy, what do you say and do about Jesus Christ?

If you believe and receive Jesus Christ into your heart, not your mind, and confess him before the world, God will bring you to his place when your body dies. In the mean time, just like an employer has employees, God has his workers called Ambassadors for Christ.

But God doesn’t just send his ambassadors out on their own, just as an employer does not leave an employee on their own. The employer trains and teaches the employee in their work. God gives us the Holy Spirit. Just as an employer would have poor employees and average employees, he also has outstanding employees. Innovative, forward thinking, hard workers, punctual, not wasteful, financially cautious and not a thief. God also has poor ambassadors and average ambassadors. God also has outstanding ambassadors.

It does not matter what I think or what you think about the Holy Spirit working in and through believers today. It matters what God says and what God does. It is about the Kingdom of God and expanding God’s kingdom. Churches and Satan have tried and in many cases succeeded in getting believers to stop working for the Kingdom of God and fight amongst themselves. How do I know this? Just look at the deterioration of society. The church acts like, dresses like, speaks like the heathen. The message has shifted from the gospel of salvation to the gospel of wealth and entertainment.

The believer’s spirit man is all about God and furthering the Kingdom of God. It is all about the Holy Spirit working through believers. The body didn’t get saved. The soul is what gets saved. The body and the works of the flesh will never please God. It is our spirit that is quickened, born again and it is our spirit man that works as an ambassador for Christ. If you base what the Holy Spirit can or can not do based on what you think the scriptures teach, you limit God and you are soul living.

When the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles,  believers, miraculous things happened. They received the Holy Spirit from Jesus but the coming of the Holy Spirit Jesus spoke of in Acts was something different and we know this because Paul mentions it in Acts 19 which was about 20 years after Paul was already saved if you read the book of Acts. Acts 19:1-7 KJV  “And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
[2] He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
[3] And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
[4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
[5] When they heard this , they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
[6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
[7] And all the men were about twelve.”

Notice the Holy Ghost came upon them. I am not going to argue with believers on when did the church start. I am going to say the book of Acts launches the church. What I mean by this is, there was a shift from the Old Testament way, and a shift from when Jesus was physically here on earth because Jesus was under the law as a Jew. But after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, the church was launched and God sent the Holy Spirit to help the church, believe it or not. Just like God the Father has power and Jesus Christ has power, so does the Holy Spirit have power.  And the Holy Spirit uses his power for the church to enlarge the kingdom of God.

Someone who is soul living does things or believes things based on what they think, what they were taught, not on God’s word or the power of God. That’s why Paul told them 1 Corinthians 14:26 KJV  “How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.”

If we, like a child, come to God praying for a miracle, pray for healing, seek wisdom or knowledge, I believe with all my heart God does work today and is still in the miracle business. Not to build church buildings, or ministries. Not to elevate people. But to further his kingdom, exalt his word, magnify his son Jesus Christ. And yes, God works through his ambassadors too.

I know what the fundamentalists teach about the Holy Spirit working with our spirit man, practically nothing. I know what the Pentacostals teach about the Holy Spirit – they elevate the Holy Spirit and have made the spiritual gifts idols.  For the saved believer who wants to know the truth about the Holy Spirit, you have to become like a child and let God the Holy Spirit teach you from God’s word. And you will know it really is the Holy Spirit because he will elevate Jesus Christ, not himself. Remember, all things are possible with God even if your church did not teach you that. Even if your denomination does not teach you God can and will do whatever is necessary to enlarge his kingdom and elevate Jesus Christ because Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.

1 Timothy 3:16 KJV  “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

Colossians 1:12-22 KJV  “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
[13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
[14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
[15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
[16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
[17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
[18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
[19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
[20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say , whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
[21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
[22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:”

Until next time.
