Is Catapillar & Butterfly DNA The Same?
Someone asked the other day if the DNA of a catapillar and the DNA of a butterfly were the same. I thought about that question from a scriptural standpoint. But the person who answered the question said yes. They stated scientists state the DNA of a catapillar and butterfly is the same. So is it because the physical body of the catapillar changes into a butterfly, we think the DNA is different?
The questions didn’t stop after the catapillar and butterfly. Then one asked, what about a tadpole? Is the DNA of a tadpole the same as a frog?
Clearly, the issue was the changing of the body. Which made me think of believers who “sleep”. Scripture says when we die, we are sleeping. We know our body decays in the grave. But what about our DNA?
There are several crime shows on television that show bodies exhumed from the grave, even years after being buried, where new DNA tests are performed.
When Jesus was crucified, scripture says Jesus gave up the ghost. Another words, his spirit man left his physical body. All four gospels say Jesus gave up the ghost but only one gospel, Luke, says Jesus said,
Luke 23:46 KJV ” And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.”
We know when Jesus first rose from the dead the people did not recognize him. Luke 24 speaks about the people not recognizing Jesus. The question is why? But notice after Jesus comes to be in their midst, they did recognize him.
Scripture tells us 1 Corinthians 15:50 KJV “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”
Flesh and blood are parts of the body. Not only does salvation have nothing to do with the fleshly body but the fleshly body we have now is not what we have when we believers go to heaven. We do get a body and when the Lord calls us up, we get a glorified body.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 KJV “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”
Until next time.
