The Jewish And Gentile Connection

There is a teaching going around that declares God is done with Israel. Some teach the church has replaced Israel. And the sad thing? Some people instead of reading God’s word for themselves, choose to believe the teachers over God and his word.

If you think the church has replaced Israel, you do not know God or his word very well. A religious man who knew the scriptures very, very well explained Israel and the church. This man was a Pharisee named Saul, a Jew from the tribe of Benjamin, whom God changed his name to Paul. But before I go there, let me explain the foundation. In a nutshell so to say.

Of the people on earth thousands of years ago, God calls out this man named Abram. God makes Abram some promises and God tells Abram to go to a specific area in the world. Specific land. God changes Abram’s name to Abraham.   One of the promises God gives Abraham is a son Issac and God tells Abraham, in Isaac (not Ishmael) shall thy seed be called.

Note: Today’s Arab nations are traced back to Ishmael’s decendents.

So Isaac is born and has two sons, Esau and Jacob. Esau sells his birth right to Jacob and later, God changes Jacob’s name to Israel. Genesis 32:28 KJV
“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.”

Israel is now a nation made up of the 12 sons of Jacob and their families. Joseph was one of Jacob’s 12 sons and Joseph would end up in Egypt, second to their Pharaoh in power and authority. About 430 years later, Israel ends up in captivity in Egypt and God sends Moses, a Jew. Through Moses, God delivers Israel out of bondage in Egypt ( That day started what is celebrated as Passover and God tells Moses that day also starts Israel’s first month of the year – God’s calendar ).

God gives Moses a bunch of laws to give to the people of Israel. They are to write these laws down and obey those laws to earn righteousness and teach these laws to their children.  Another words, obey the laws and God will forgive your sins. Question: Did their obedience to these laws have anything to do with the promises God gave Abraham? No. Abraham was given these promises, from God himself, before Jacob. Before Israel was a nation. But the promises God gave to Abraham would affect Israel because Jacob was Abraham’s grandson.

So Israel writes the laws of God and teach their children God’s laws. Hundreds of years go by, thousands of years. Is God silent? No. God speaks to Israel through prophets and Nathan was King David’s prophet. We also read about Isaiah, Jeremiah, and many more prophets of God who tell Israel what to do in specific cases and they speak of coming events, including a coming Messiah.

The prophets spoke specifically about events and the Messiah. The scribes would write these down. And scripture prophecy is never wrong. Then along comes this Jew. When tracing his Jewish lineage he is discovered to come from King David’s lineage. And David came from the tribe of Judah.

Jews knew the priestly service was from the tribe of Levi, not Judah, so they dismissed Jesus / Yeshua. But they could not get around the prophecy that the Messiah would come from Judah not Levi. Jacob himself told his 12 sons Messiah would come from Judah in Genesis. Genesis 49:10 KJV
:The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be .”

Yeshua would fulfill every prophecy in Israel’s records. But the religious leaders of Israel did not believe ( many leaders, not all). So they told their Roman captors to crucify Yeshua. The religious leaders did not understand that Yeshua was their final Passover Lamb, even though many of their scriptures taught that including Isaiah 53 and many others.

Israel’s religious leaders, for whatever reason, did not want to believe Yeshua. Even after all the miracles and signs and proof Yeshua gave them. But Gentiles did believe Yeshua. And even after raising people from the dead, Israel’s leaders still would not believe him. And after Yeshua rose from the dead, they still did not believe him. So God turned to allow Gentiles to be saved. Why?

Gentiles were considered to be like dogs to Jewish people. Why would God do that?   Romans 11:11 KJV  “I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.”

Gentiles are grateful to Israel because it is through Israel Gentiles can know the one true God. Israel wrote and keeps the records of God’s word. The Jew Saul / Paul put it this way –

Romans 9:4-12 KJV. “Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God , and the promises;
[5] Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came , who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
[6] Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
[7] Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
[8] That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
[9] For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
[10] And not only this ; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
[11] (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
[12] It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.”

And –

Romans 9:23-27 KJV  “And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
[24] Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
[25] As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
[26] And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
[27] Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:”

You see, Israel had been taught to obey the law. Do the works of the law. Everything was based on works and obeying rules and laws. Why did they do this? Why? So God would forgive their sin and count them as righteous. So their righteousness before God was all based on their obedience, their works, their doing specific things. It had nothing to do with faith. Another words, it was like – do this and get that. If you wanted “that” you needed to do “this”. There was no faith involved and no love in their heart required.  So they would establish their own righteousness by how many laws or rules they kept.

As Paul says, they have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. Another words, they have a zeal for God but based on keeping laws and they have no knowledge of God, who he is, what he is like, if he laughs, if he cries. All they know is do this to get that.

Romans 10:1-4 KJV  “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
[2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
[3] For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
[4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”

The verses people use saying God is done with Israel is –

Romans 11:17-21 KJV  “And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
[18] Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
[19] Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
[20] Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
[21] For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”

But these false teachers fail to mention the rest of the chapter.

Romans 11:25-27 KJV  “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
[26] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
[27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”

And they fail to mention the church is made up of Jews and Gentiles – as scripture says, until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in. Then what? Psalm 22 and many other verses. God works with Israel again, not Gentiles.

True believers, Jews and Gentiles, know God is preparing the bride of Christ, the church. Once the bride is complete, God turns back to Israel. But as scripture says, a remnant will be saved. Jews have a choice right now. Continue trying to establish your own righteousness by keeping rules, laws and ordinances or believe Yeshua was who scripture says he is, God manifest in the flesh and your Passover Lamb, and believe on him and receive Yeshua as your Saviour and Lord. Until next time.

Jews may have a choice, but not in accepting Jesus as their god, but well as their Messiah, the sent one from God.

Thank you for your comment. Understanding the connection between the spirit, soul and body explains Jesus. 1 Timothy 3:16, God was manifest in the flesh and Jesus said God is Spirit. God is made up of Spirit, Soul and Body and God created man like himself, with a spirit, soul and body. And 1 John 5:7 referencing God, these three are one. Thanks again.

Where do you get it from that 1 Timothy 3:16, would say that “God was manifest in the flesh and Jesus said God is Spirit.” for sure Jesus tells his listeners that God is Spirit. there should be no doubt about it, man having to know also that God is an eternal Spirit Who can not be seen by man.

“And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness, which is, God is manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16 GenevaBible)

“God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in Spirit and Truth.” (John 4:24 GenevaBible)

“Furthermore he said, Thou canst not see my face, for there shall no man see me, and live.” (Exodus 33:20 GenevaBible)

“Concerning therefore the eating of things sacrificed unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.” (1 Corinthians 8:4 GenevaBible)

In Jesus we can see God, but nowhere is said he is God. The opposite, the God Who does not tell lies proclaims Jesus to be His son.

“And lo, a voice came from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17 GenevaBible)

“And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is that my beloved Son, hear him.” (Luke 9:35 GenevaBible)

“For God so loved the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 GenevaBible)

In Scriptures we are told that Jesus is the sent one from God and the Way to God, nowhere is written that he is God, which would be ridiculous and making God telling lies because God is omniscient and omnipotent whilst Christ could not do a lot of things, could not be everywhere and did not know a lot of things, even not when he would be coming back or who would be seated next to him. If he would be God he would have known all things.

God has a spirit, soul and body. How do I know this? 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Paul says man has a spirit, soul and body. And Genesis 1:27 tells us God created man in his image after his likeness. God the Father is like the soul of God. The soul is our mind, will and emotions. God the Son, Jesus, is the body of God and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. 1 John 5:7 tells us, these three are one.

Isaiah 48:16 tells us the Lord God and his Spirit hath sent me. Again pointing out God is triune but naming two of the three here. Isaiah 49:26 says he is the L9rd, the Saviour, the Redeemer, the mighty ONE of Jacob.

Genesis 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth. Colossians 1:14-22 tells us Jesus created everything, Jesus redeemed us with his blood and Jesus IS the IMAGE of the invisible God.

Jesus is the body of God. Just like your body is the body of you. But when you die, your body gets buried. Your spirit (breath of life) goes back to God who gave it, Ecclesiastes 12:7, and your soul (your mind, will and emotions) is what goes to heaven or hell. You have a spirit, soul and body and so does God, if you believe it or not. I pray God open your understanding and you apply critical thinking skills and not indoctrination to the scriptures

I will not argue with you over scripture, nor engage in strife.

You think God has a spirit, soul and body because you look at 1 Thessalonians 5:23 where Paul speaks of man and says man has a spirit, soul and body. He does not speak about God. Though you refer to Genesis where is written we are created in the image. suddenly you also say that Jesus is the body of God, but nowhere in Scriptures is such thing told. You keep thinking form your trinitarian point of view seeing Jesus as being God, which he is not. It is like keeping to prove something going our from the wrong assumption but taking that as a truth and as such always able to proof such thing. As such I am able to proof that glass is sand but also that glass is lead (plumbum) or any other metal.

Concerning the spirit, soul and body we do have you yourself give the answer but does not seem to see it “spirit (breath of life) “, “soul (your mind, will and emotions) “. The body being a combination of water and other materials forming substances, which when a person dies deteriorate and in tits decay becomes dust.

Sheol or hell is the grave, the sepulchre where dead are buried.

“19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; and man hath no preeminence above the beasts: for all is vanity. 20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.” (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20 ASV)

“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5 ASV)

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10 ASV)

“For in death there is no remembrance of thee: In Sheol who shall give thee thanks?” (Psalms 6:5 ASV)

“For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.” (Isaiah 38:18 ASV)
