How Do You Define A Successful Life?

So how do you – define a successful life? What does successful mean?

By definition, success means the favorable or prosperous termination of anything attempted.

So is success an emotion? Or is being considered successful an emotion?

When you look at your own life, would you say your life or time on earth in the flesh is successful? Would your parents think your life has been successful? What about your friends?

I suppose it would be how you define success verses how others view and define success. And then there is how you define success in others. Need some examples?

Would you say your parents had a successful life? How about your siblings? The only way to really know if someone is successful is if you know what the person set out to do.

Consider Jesus Christ. What did Jesus set out to do, to accomplish and did he complete his mission?

Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, scripture makes that very clear in the Old and New Testaments. Look at Colossians chapter one and even 1 Timothy 3:16 says,
” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. ”

Colossians 1:12-22 says ” Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: ”

Jesus Christ clearly came to die for the sin of the world. Why? So mankind could be reconciled to God. Remember,  Adam and Eve blew it for all mankind when they sinned. Adam was created in God’s image but after Adam and Eve, mankind was made in Adam’s image, sin. So we are all born in to sin.

So when Jesus came, he paid once for all time, the sin debt by shedding his holy, pure blood for all sin when he was crucified on the cross. And when Jesus rose from the dead, he proved he conquered death, hell and the grave.

So was Jesus successful? Did Jesus have a successful life? What about the disciples, did they have a successful life and why?

Remember,  success is defined by accomplishing what you set out to do. So if my goal is to win souls to Jesus Christ, I would define success by how many people I take to heaven with me.

In life in this flesh, at twelve years old I had a goal to learn to play the organ well. I succeeded so by definition, I would be considered successful. But if my goals and aspirations stop there, is my life a success?

I would have to understand my purpose. Another words, why did God create me and what did God create me to do. What is my purpose?

This is a topic I find most interesting. Especially because I know the Lord himself will one day judge me on what I did with the life he gave me.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15  ” For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13. Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. ”

I must examine success more. Let us explore together, real success. Until next time.

Losing Society, A Troubling Trend

When you look back 25 years, 50 years or 100 years we see a troubling trend of not only society, but also the church – believers.

Compare a preaching message from Billy Graham 40 years ago, 30 or 20 years ago to modern day preaching and see if you can see the focus shift.

The preaching use to focus on repentance, salvation and holiness. It was about getting right with God and living right. Messages focused on the cross and how Jesus Christ paid mankind’s sin debt with his own blood.

Many denominations set up a list of rules for their congregations to follow and if you did not follow those rules, you were labeled a backslider. Some believers were even thrown out of churches for not following their denomination’s rules even though their list of rules never appear in the scriptures.

These rules established by denominations are called legalism. And when church people could not keep the rules, they were called names, they were thrown out of churches often. The results? People started leaving the churches. The churches claimed they were holding to a holiness standard, even if their rules were not in scripture.

Then believers discovered preachers and teachers of the word of God did not keep their own rules. Many pastors and church leaders were found to be committing the same sins as the unsaved world and the church started loosing credibility. And the church suffers today from the sin nature of mankind.

A good example is Jesus had a traitor in his midst with Judas Iscariot and even Peter denied the Lord three times. Was Peter thrown out as an apostle? Paul was a murderer, of Christians, was he thrown out? No, God called them to do a work for him.

So the church was loosing people and loosing credibility in their communities. Society today reflects the losses. Then we saw a shift. The message in the church changed. The message of repent, ask God to forgive you and mean it in your heart, get saved and live for Christ has shifted away from Paul’s message, from Billy Graham’s preaching, to me.

The message is all about you and me and what God can do for us, in this world. The message today is what can God do for me? How can God bless me? How can God give me what I want? My desires, my dreams, my needs and my choices is today’s focus. Problem with that is, that teaching is not scriptural.

Believers are ambassadors for Christ, Christ is not our ambassador to the world. Today, people make decisions and ask God to bless their decision. Most people do not seek what God wants them to do and then do it knowing God will bless it. That is called living in the Spirit when you follow God prompting you instead of dragging God along with what you want to do.

Today, the focus is on what God can do for you to prosper you in this world. Yes, God does prosper believers, but the message is not about God prospering us. The message is repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Then all these things (victory, peace, salvation, comfort, encouragement, prosperity, etc.) will be added unto you. Lay your treasures up in heaven, not on this earth. Share Jesus and the gospel of salvation with everyone God brings into your life.

Until next time.

No Death Until…..

People often confuse Mark 9:1 ” And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. ”

This verse is a great explanation of the Kingdom of God. When you look at the references in the middle column of your Bible, understand, those references are put in their by man. Those references are not in the original scriptures. Man puts them there so you see other verses on similar subjects.

Always fully examine the references in context. And Mark 9:1 kjv, is an excellent example of references being wrong.

The references in my KJV say; Matthew 24:30 which actually says in the verses surrounding 24:30, the time frame is “after the tribulatuon” when Jesus stands physically on earth again, visibilly.
Matthew 25:31 says, in context, Jesus is physically on earth judging the nations.
Luke 22:18 Jesus will drink after the Kingdom of God. Another words, the Kingdom of God has to have already come. Jesus is not saying when it comes but after it already came.
And Hebrews 2:8,9  when all things are put under Jesus’ feet and Paul tells us in Hebrews, all things have not yet been put under his feet.

And remember,  Paul came after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

So when Jesus said in Mark 9:1, some of you standing here will not taste death till they have “seen” the Kingdom of God come with power he was not talking about his second coming. He was telling them, some of you standing here are going to see the kingdom of God come, with power, before you die. It was a clue, something big is coming.

We also see Jesus tells a follower to go and preach the Kingdom of God, not repentance, not the Kingdom of heaven, not water baptism, but the Kingdom of God. Luke 9:60 –  ” Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.”

In Luke 17:20 – The Pharisees demand Jesus tell them when the Kingdom of God will come. The Pharisees were looking for a literal earthly kingdom where Messiah would sit on the throne and rule the nation’s as the Old Testament prophecies say.

But Jesus explains to the Pharisees -the Kingdom of God you can not see. Why? Because the Kingdom of God is inside believers. Luke 17:20,21 – ” And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. ”

When you reference Luke 17:21, you see Romans 14:17, 18 – ” For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.”

And this mystery of the Kingdom of God is revealed to the saints/believers. In Colossians 1:26-28 Paul explains the believers know.

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28. Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: ”

The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peach and joy in the Holy Ghost. Paul tells us to serve Christ in these three things, as believers, and that is acceptable to God and approved of man.

And remember,  Jesus said some there, with him, would not die until they saw, with their eyes, the Kingdom of God come with power. When did they see this? Pentecost. 50 days after Passover.

Believers are to serve Christ in righteousness, in peace and in joy – in the Holy Ghost. If you do not know the Holy Ghost, are not studying what Paul says about the Holy Ghost and are not taught about the Holy Ghost, how can you serve Christ?

Let me challenge my readers. Start in the book of Acts and read the book, it has 28 chapters. That will give you an overview of Paul’s ministry. Jot down every time Paul mentions the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit. Also, when the word spirit has a capital S it is a proper name, Spirit aka/Holy Spirit. A small ( s ) means man’s spirit.

Jot down what Paul says about the Holy Spirit and man’s spirit. You will be shocked.

Until next time.

What Is Your Life?

What do you think would be a fatal attraction for believers? Scripture is clear on what believers should do and how they should live.

We all make wrong choices through our journey of life. Even when, we believers, make wrong choices, wrong decisions, God helps us through the consequences of our wrong decisions. Normally, we learn from our mistakes.

Some decisions we make through life can be deadly. Drugs and alcohol can be deadly decisions. And believers sometimes get caught up in things in this world. Caught up in work, caught up in causes, caught up in the world’s ways.

Friends, we only get one chance through this world. One chance to write our own book of life. After we die, we can not change or edit anything.

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: ”

We are all going to stand before God one day and give an account of our life on earth. Yes, lost and saved will give an account.

Often, at the end of each year people evaluate their life, set goals for the coming year and lay out a plan. At the end of the year they evaluate their actions. Some people even tweak things throughout the year when they see their plan needs adjustment.

Both believers and unbelievers are in this world together. The difference is the saved, believers, who focus their life on things in this world have a fatal attraction. Believers are drawn away from God with bait. James 1:14 says, ” But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. ”

And 1 John 2:16 says, ” For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ”

The greatest fatal attraction for believers is the world.

The world has millions of people and some of these people hear the word of God, believe the word of God, and come to Jesus Christ by faith in their heart, not their head.  They pray and repent asking God to forgive them of their sin and they ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into their heart (not their head) to save them. (Romans 10:9,10) God saves them.

As they read and study God’s word and fellowship with other believers, they grow ” in Christ “. They learn what God wants them to do and how to live.

Believers are Ambassadors for Christ and not on a mission to obtain wealth and stature in this this world. Yes God does prosper us. Yes God does bless us. But our number one mission is to share the gospel of salvation with a lost and dying world. Jesus explained it to his disciples this way –

Luke 8:14, 15 ” And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. ”

God leaves believers in this world to be his ambassador to win the lost. Problem is, people are bombarded with things in this world every day they are here. Many people are enticed to abandon their mission and follow after things in this world.

If believers would focus on their mission, we could change the world. Ask yourself, when was the last time you sat down with an unbeliever, and with the scriptures showed them how to get saved?

What is your life all about? What is your life? Your life is but a vapor that appears for a little time on the time line of eternity and then it vanishes away. When you die, your life’s book has been written. No rewriting is allowed. No editing can be made. And when you stand before God on your judgment day, you will give an account. Wouldn’t you like to edit a few of your life’s chapters while you have time?

Until next time.

Out On A Limb

Okay, here we go, out on a limb. Look up two definitions: devil (s) and Satan.

These two words I have tried to stay away from, even though I know they are in the scriptures. Why did I stay away from these words? Honestly, because they scare me. Remember,  I said I got saved because I did not want to go to hell.

You may not even believe in devils, Satan or hell. But what you do believe, you got your information from someone and from somewhere, usually a book.

You may choose to believe Buddha, Confucius,  Mohammed, the Pope, Alexander Crowley or God Almighty and his word. And when your life in the flesh ends – you will discover if you made the right choice or wrong choice. The only thing about this choice you made, once you die in the flesh, you can not change things or change your destiny. Why? Because God gives man, on average,  70 – 80 years on this planet to find the truth. If you never took the time to find the truth during those 70 – 80 years, that is on you. That would be your fault, not God’s fault.

Proverbs 25:2 KJV ”  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”

I had someone ask me the other day, How can God just kill a bunch of people? Would he really do that? I answered, That is easy to answer, look at Noah and the flood. Out of all the people alive on the planet then, God killed everyone but 8 people. Only Noah and his family God saved. So yes, God can and would do that. The person said to me, You are right, that was easy to answer. I never thought of that.

I am not going to debate if you believe in God or not. And I am not going to debate Bible versions with you. My stand is clear, only the King James AV1611 which was just fine for everyone until the early 1900s when man decided to start changing God’s word with the RSV and ASV and other “versions”. Today there are over 60 versions and everyone and their brother is now making their own versions of God’s word. Dangerous ground for them.

I can certainly understand what God meant when he said in Amos 8:11,12 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
12. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. ”

God gave us his word to teach us, lead us, guide us and show us the way of salvation and eternity. You either believe him or you do not believe him. That is on you, not God.

After I have explained something from scripture, people have said to me, well that is what you believe. I answer, yes and no. They say, what do you mean by that? I say yes I believe that but no, it is not just my belief. I believe God and his word, not my point of view of God’s word.

When God’s word says something I do not understand or something I was not  taught, I search out the matter from God’s word. If what I thought or what I was taught goes against what God’s word says, I always fall back on Proverbs 3:5,6 ” Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. ”

Works everytime. Yes, friends, family, pastors and teachers will come against you when you disagree with them so get used to it.

So when people say to me, that is what you believe, I can say, I believe God and his word, do you? If they say yes, I say, so if God’s word says something and you believe God and his word, is that your point of view or you believe God?

Which brings me back to the beginning of this post. The first three and a half years I was saved, I heard a lot of preaching and teaching of hell, on good and evil, on God and Satan. But after those three and a half years, I moved and since then, I have heard very few messages or teachings on heaven and hell, good and evil and God and Satan. I can count on one hand how many times I have heard a message on devils in 35 years!

If our adversary is the devil, why are Christians ignorant of devils, Satan and foul spirits? How are believers to know their enemy and his devices if they are not taught they have an enemy?

Ephesians 6:12 tells us ” For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ”

Tell me, who are the principalities?  Who or what powers are we wrestling with? Who or what is the rulers of darkness? Paul also tells Satan has devices he uses against people. 2 Corinthians 2:11 ” Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. ” How can Satan get an advantage over us and what type of devices does he use?

Many believers are ignorant of Satan’s devices. I know, I was for many years after I got saved. I was afraid to study these matters so I was willingly ignorant out of fear.

When I decided to go back through the New Testament and do it with an open mind, not what I was taught, but letting the Holy Spirit teach me, not man, I discovered some things. I saw the words unclean spirits, foul spirits, devil (s) and people possessed with devils.

I knew God sent King Saul an evil spirit in the Old Testament ( see 1 Samuel 16:14). But when you see 4, 5, 6 different people mentioned, within 20 verses, all of whom had devils or evil spirits possessing them, I thought, that is a lot of people Jesus healed who were possessed with devils. How can that be?

So I asked God – the Old Testament has devils and evil spirits, the apostles and Paul dealt with devils and evil spirits, so why hasn’t the church been taught about devils and evil spirits? So let me ask you, can you recognize the devil’s attacks on you? Can you list five devices the devil has used against you?

Lord willing, we will explore this more next time. Until next time.

Or Don’t You Care?

Most “cuss” words deal with sex, poop, your butt/hiney, and other private body parts. We all have private body parts but for some reason, people think they are “cool” if they come up with a new name for their private body parts and say that new word in anger, they become cool cuss words. In reality, people who cuss show they are ignorant and illiterate.

When you think of a “figure of speech”, what figure does speech have? Can you imagine if it really rained cats and dogs?

We are in a time the world calls Christmas time. The word means Christ  mas. A mass for Christ. What is a mass? Others say, Jesus is the reason for the season. The season of what? You know me, I am a word person. These words matter so I look at them closely. Words should matter to you because Jesus said in Matthew:36, 37 KJV, ” But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. ”

If what the world calls “Christmas” is really a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, what gift did you buy Jesus? How did the world come up with December 25th when scripture teaches Jesus was most likely born in October? What scripture do they use to support December 25th? How do you explain exchanging gifts with family and friends for Jesus’ birthday? Shouldn’t all the gifts go to Jesus? Or don’t you care?

If ” Christmas ” is really celebrating the birth of Jesus, what does a “Christmas tree” have to do with Jesus’ birthday? Some people even worship the tree. The sing to a dead tree songs like O Christmas Tree. TO A TREE!!! How does singing to a dead tree celebrate Jesus’ birthday?

And who came up with Santa Claus bringing presents to people, especially to children (who are easily influenced ) in a sleigh with 8 reindeer and later discover Rudolph? And all this ties into celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, HOW?

Do people even think anymore? Have you ever read the scriptures? Or don’t you care about what God says? You say it is tradition and what does it matter? It is not hurting anyone.

Matthew 15: 1-3 and verse 9 KJV,  ” Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2. Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

9. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ”

I learned a long time ago, on judgment day, I will give an account for me and my son until my son was set free and accountable for himself. God warns each of us in 1 Corinthians 3: 10-19 KJV, ” According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
16. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. ”

When we are told about defile the temple, that is to say our body, Jesus explained in Matthew 15:18 KJV, ”
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.”

If you have “traditions” in your heart that go against scripture, and you teach your children to participate in those traditions, according to scripture, you are teaching your children the way of the ” heathen ” the unbelievers. Or don’t you care what God has to say about it?

Jeremiah 10:1-6 KJV,  ” Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2. Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. ”

When you teach your children the way of the heathen, to celebrate pagan celebrations, God will hold you accountable. Or don’t you care what God says?  Maybe you are afraid of being mocked if you stop now. Think of those who mocked Noah and those who listened to Jonah. Two different outcomes.

Today, even so-called “churches” have brought paganism into the body of believers. Do a study on what God has to say about trees at the alter.

You want to celebrate exchanging gifts? Pick another day. What about your families birthdays?

Can you name God’s holidays? Can you describe what festivals and celebrations God supports and endorses? Or don’t you care? God never tells us to celebrate Jesus’ birthday but he does tell us to celebrate his death, burial and resurrection. And not with egg hunts and bunnies. Or don’t you care?

Have you ever read what God wrote in a volume of a book? How can you say you love God and follow Jesus if you never even read his word? His instruction manual? Or don’t you care? When your life’s journey on this earth comes to an end, you will care then. Why not lay out your 2019 goals and plans now while you have time. Maybe it is time to reset your life and see what God has to say to you. Hear ye HIM!

What Happens After Death? Part 3

We have learned we have a spirit, a soul and a body. We have also learned, before someone gets “saved”, “born again”, their spirit man is dead unto God because of sin from Adam and Eve. But once a person truly believes in their heart that Jesus Christ paid their sin debt on the cross, with his blood, and receives Jesus Christ in to their heart as Lord and Saviour, God forgives them and saves their soul and quickens (makes alive) their spirit man.

No where in scripture, does God tell us every person who ever lived, goes to heaven. God’s word makes a clear distinction between good and evil and God tells mankind to choose good.

Deuteronomy 30:19  “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: ”
Joshua 24:15  ”  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. ”

God created mankind with a freewill to choose his own path. Mankind chooses his path while his spirit man is dead unto God. If a person chooses God, believes God and acts on what God says, that person is “saved“. In the Old Testament, the people had laws to keep. God gave them the laws to show them they could never keep every single one of the laws, but people tried to keep them. So God comes into the world as a man in the person of Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 3:16 ” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. ”

Jesus explains why he came, to save people. Save them from what? Death, hell and the grave. To save them from an eternity without him. God is light. He is the God of the living, not the dead.

God keeps records and in heaven, he has the Book of Life. Those who are saved, their names are in the Book of Life. But those who are unbelievers, not saved, their name is in the other books, (see Revelation 20:12).

So what happens to believers and unbelievers when their body dies? Jesus told the disciples.

Luke 16:19-31 KJV ” There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21. And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23. And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28. For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. ”

Notice, one person, the begged (believer) is carried by angels, to heaven. Believers, once they die in their body, are carried by angels to heaven. Remember when Moses died? The devil fought with Michael the archangel over Moses’ body?

The fleshly body of a believer is buried in the grave. Their spirit and soul go to heaven where at the resurrection, believers get a new glorified body like Jesus got when he rose from the dead.

Unbelievers, notice, go to hell. Their body is buried in the grave, their spirit (life) goes back to God according to Ecclesiastes 8:8 and 12:7. Their soul ( mind, will and emotions) go to hell where they are tormented.

Notice Revelation 20:10-15 where we are told after the unbelievers are judged by God,
” 12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. ”

And who else is put, by God, into the lake of fire? Revelation 20:10 KJV ”  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. ”

When people truly get saved, it is not about saying a prayer. It is not about changing your behaviour or life. It is not about following a religious denomination (publicans). It is about coming to God through Jesus Christ as God manifest in the flesh, and asking God to forgive you. You believe on Jesus Christ and what he did, paid for all your sin with his blood at the cross. Believe in your heart. Believe he rose from the dead and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you. Then live for Jesus and get a King James Bible (free online) and read it.

We know God is keeping records throughout the generations. I personally believe everyone who is born is in the Book of Life until they get to an age of accountability. Then, if they reject Jesus, their name is blotted out of the Book of Life and their name is put into the unbeliever’s books. Just do a word study on blot and blotted.

Exodus 32:33 ” And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. ”

Look at Psalm 143 ” A Psalm of David.
1. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7. Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
9. Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11. Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12. And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant. ”
