Time To Make Things Plain Part 2

There is some truth to the saying, the older you get the more you think about what happens after your body starts shutting down. You start to look at things from an “overall” view. You notice people have become “religious”. Things have just changed.

Many churches and pastors have switched from preaching the gospel of salvation to the lost to preaching prosperity to the believer. They say one third of the Scriptures/Bible is prophecy yet when is the last time you heard your pastor preach or teach on prophecy?

Sadly, some churches have driven people away because they were so legalistic they became self righteous.

The issue plainly is people are born with an inner desire to know God. Because people “lack knowledge” on how to seek God they look in wrong places.

Matthew 7:13-14

13¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Notice the way to life and few find it? We are told in Scripture finding life is like finding precious treasure, a pearl and such. Yet people today are looking for their career path, their job, their home and their worldly goods. Churches have been preaching on God’s blessing you (and God does bless us) but the focus shifted from reaching the lost and teaching the new believers to ground them in sound doctrine to what is God doing for me. Churches have shifted so now society has shifted to the “me” culture.

Remember what Jesus told the disciples and the people in Luke 13:22-28

22¶ And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

We at #HeavensRecord do not have all the answers but we do know the one who has all the answers, that would be the triune God. Over the next few months we will attempt to lay out the truth so you can be sure you are in the “few there be that find it” group. We encourage you to ask questions, post questions and share with your family and friends our posts. Until next time.
