Mistakes

When people hear the truth of the gospel they are acquiring knowledge. They are learning about God. Some people say they do not believe God and some people say they do believe God. Those that believe God make a decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. That Jesus’ sinless blood paid for their sin on the cross at Calvary. And because Jesus rose from the dead, there is a resurrection of the dead.

There are a lot of reasons why the resurrection of the dead is spoken of mainly in the New Testament. Jesus Christ is the firstfruits. Firstfruits include many things, the firstfruits of harvest, of increase, of cities and in this case, the dead.

When the conversation Jesus was having with some people shifted to the dead and if the dead rise again, Jesus told them two major things.

Matthew 22:29-32 KJV  “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
[30] For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
[31] But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
[32] I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Jesus  told them they were making a mistake. What was the mistake? Two things:

~ Not knowing the scriptures
~ Not knowing the power of God

Mistake is defined as – to error in opinion and judgment.  In Matthew 22:29 Jesus told them they do err. They are making a mistake.

So we are going to look at some common mistakes people make today. One of these common mistakes is the resurrection of the dead. That was the topic when Jesus brought up the people did err, make a mistake.

So what about the resurrection of the dead. We will look at this next time.

The 3 Keys Unlock

Last time we pointed out the 3 Keys to life.  Today, we are going to look at what these 3 Keys unlock. The name of the 3 Keys:
Key 1: Wisdom
Key 2: Knowledge
Key 3: Understanding

Most Christians know God says wisdom is the principal thing. Proverbs 4:7 KJV
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

Wisdom is a Key then. If I were to ask you, what does wisdom mean? You might use the dictionary definition – wisdom is the right use or exercise of knowledge. Based on the dictionary definition, then wisdom is applying what you know, right? Wrong. Well wrong according to God. And herein lies the key.

The “Wisdom of this world” God made foolish, 1 Corinthians 1:19-31. So how does God define wisdom? I am glad you asked. If you use what I call a watered down version of God’s word, you may not see this. But if you use the old fashioned King James Bible, you will see this. 

[ Note: When you start messing with God’s word you are asking for trouble. God does not have 63 versions of what he said. I choose to stick with the 1611 King James and yes I have a reprint of the original 1611.]

How does God define wisdom? And why does it matter?
God defines wisdom in:

Proverbs 9:10 – the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
And in –
Job 28:28 – And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;

So what does “the fear of the Lord” mean? Are we to be afraid of God?
God defines what the “fear of the Lord ” is in  Proverbs 8:13-14 KJV  “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
[14] Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.”

So the fear of the Lord is to hate evil and the evil way. So wisdom is defined by God as hating evil, hating the evil way, hating the froward mouth, hating pride and arrogancy. And friends, that is Key #1.

But what does that key unlock? I am glad you asked. The wisdom key unlocks the spiritual man. Unlike Key # 2 Knowledge which unlocks the soul man, (soul is mind, will and emotions), and Key # 3 is Understanding and that unlocks mankind’s flesh/body man,
Key # 1 is Wisdom and that unlocks our spirit man.

It is one thing to know there are 3 Keys and it is good to know what these 3 Keys unlock but what do you do with this, how do you use the Keys?  I am glad you asked. You can have 3 boxes and 3 Keys. You can know what is inside the box (know what the Bible says) and you can have the Keys to unlock these boxes, but you can not have what is in the boxes until you go through the lock.

You have to put your Key into the lock and turn the key to unlock the box. The lock is the heart. I tried to put a diagram together to help explain this. I used my man Alex I created in Blender 3D (Click Blender 3D to go to their site and download free 3D imaging) on the left side showing Spirit, Soul and Body. On the right side, the 3 Keys – Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding.

Knowledge is all about the mind, the soul. Do we live and act based on our soul? No. Galatians 5 says live in the spirit, walk in the spirit and be led by the Spirit.

Understanding is about our body, our flesh. When we understand if we do this, then that will happen. That is a real time event that affects our body. I will get into that more later.

But Wisdom, the principal thing, is spirit related. Wisdom is the Key. And the Wisdom Key unlocks our spirit man and walking, living and being led by the Spirit. And the lock is the heart. When we put the Wisdom Key into the lock, the heart, it unlocks our spiritual walk with God.

The 3 Keys To Life

There are keys to life. And as Jack Sparrow ( from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean )  said, what do keys do? They unlock things. The 3 Keys to life will unlock things for you.

If someone asks you the definition to a word, how do you respond?  Do you tell them the definition, if you know it?  When I was growing up and in public school, teachers would put the word into a sentence and then ask me to use the word in a sentence to be sure I understood the meaning. I’m not sure if teachers still teach like that.

Many times we think we know definitions of words but when we look them up in a dictionary, sometimes we are surprised to find we didn’t have that one quite right. When it comes to God’s word, I have found it is best to let God define what he means through other scripture verses.

So I am going to give you a challenge. There are 3 Keys to life. These keys unlock  things. I am going to give you the names of the 3 keys. You can define each key so you know what each key means but I want you to tell me or yourself, what they unlock. All 3 Keys are God’s keys. Another words, God says these are principal things, keys.

But God makes us search his word to find out what these keys unlock. Remember, the dictionary definition may not be the same as God’s definition. 

Tomorrow’s post will show you what these 3 Keys unlock and how the keys unlock things. The name of the 3 Keys:
Key 1: Wisdom
Key 2: Knowledge
Key 3: Understanding

When we know how God defines these 3 Keys,  we learn what these keys unlock. I will give one clue. The clue is: “One of the main focuses of this blog”.

Are You Ignorant of Satan’s Devices?

Ignorant/ignorance, what does it mean? According to Webster 1828 dictionary, Ignorant means destitute of knowledge, uninstructed, want or absence of knowledge. We study things to learn, to get knowledge. But there are things we are ignorant of. The same is true with God. If you want to know about God, how he thinks, how he operates, what is important to him, you have to obtain knowledge.

There are many ways to obtain knowledge about God; tv, church, other people and even God’s word. What determines our areas of ignorance? The heart. Remember, the heart is the gateway to your soul. If it is in your heart to learn about God so you are not ignorant of God, you will make the time to study & learn (Matthew 12:34).

Keeping with ignorant, Paul tells us, “2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” The question is, Are you? Are you ignorant of Satan’s devices or ways he goes after you? Can you name 5 – 10 ways Satan attacks?

Romans 10:3 people are ignorant of God’s righteousness so they try to establish their own righteousness by keeping a law that was never given to them.

Romans 11:25  people are ignorant of how God is working with & through both Jews & Gentiles.

1 Corinthians 12:1 people are ignorant of spiritual gifts.

1Thessalonians 4:13 people are ignorant of the rapture of the church.

Peter says in 2 Peter 3:3 you will have people who mock God & scriptures but know this, they are willingly ignorant. They choose to not know the truth. There was a time in the past when God winked at this ignorance, but not any more.

Friend, ignorance in truth comes from a person whose heart is not on the things of God. If Satan can get your heart through sex, money, desire for things, pride, deceitfulness of riches, power, strength or other things, you will remain ignorant on the things of God and come judgment day, you are without excuse.

Ephesians 4:17 & 18 KJV “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
[18] Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

It is not about sitting on a cloud somewhere, it is about knowing God as well as you know your mom & dad. And it is about knowing your enemy, Satan, and how he works, how he comes after you & your family and most important, how to fight back.

We learned today, it is all about where our heart is. What is our heart’s deep down love. And if you are ignorant on spiritual matters, how are you going to correct that?
